Day 2
He sent a text at 8 in the morning to let me know he didn’t forget about me.
All smiles!
He decided to take the afternoon off. He had just moved over the weekend, downsized in hopes of maybe finding someone special soon to build a life with, wanted to stay flexible. Interesting.
I’ve got kids, two of them. Very young little women and well, I struggle. Lots of stuff has gone wrong, mainly due to my awful decision making but I was fixing it. Slowly but surely, I was digging myself out of this hole.
So, we chatted for a while via KIK and I threw a crazy idea out there that we could meet at the park and chat while my kiddos played. He was fine with the idea. I was quite nervous that I was making another stupid decision.
We met and I was pretty sad that it was going to rain after sitting there for a couple hours because I could have stayed there all night talking to him.
Wait, what was this? I think I really like this guy.

P – Wish I could. Have never seen it.
Z – I’m not so sick of it, lol…great songs to sing so that makes it fun

Z – I might have to go down to the U of Akron to get some stuff figured out but other than that, nope!
P – What are you taking there?
Z – Well this semester, I’d like to just take some online class but I’ll be back to campus classes next semester. I’m going for Bus. & Org. Communications
P – Sounds like a very useful major
Z – Being that I have no idea what I want to do, lol
Z – It works for now, lol
P – I liked school but could never go back.
Z – Why not?
P – I have enough degrees for now, lol. I like training seminars though and do love to learn
Z – Training seminars are usually best since they usually directly apply to your current career…lots of nonsense you have to take to get a degree but whatever….knowledge is power
P – I agree completely
P – Any hobbies or burning passions?
Z – I don’t really get to enjoy the things I used to love to do all the time much…
Z – I like scrap booking, parks….I love to read, I workout some, love dancing…tap dance, belly dance…
P – Very cool. I also love the parks, reading and dancing. I can imagine with your busy schedule it can be a challenge to fit them in. But to be raising two girls must be all worth it. Happiness is only real when shared *smiley face
Z – They get to share in my love of music the most…I do pageants, haven’t for a few years but I learned to love show tunes through pageants and they have started to enjoy them too
Z – One of our favs is Forget about the Boy from Throughly Modern Millie
P – Very cool. I really like some of the show tunes. Especially from old musicals
P – What kind of pageants?
Z – Well, I competed locally in the Miss Ohio system for 7 years and then I’ve done Miss Black Ohio and my last one was Ms Essence in 2012
P – I can see that. You are very beautiful and have the personality to match.
Z – Aww thanks…I need to really get into my physical fitness and once I do that, I’d like to do some more, maybe next year
P – That’s awesome. I enjoy working out. Used to run ultra marathons but have a bum ankle now. Still love to swim and life though
Z – I don’t know how to swim
P – It’s a great exercise. What do you like to do for a workout.
Z – I do love the water, I just terrified of it as well, lol
Z – I’m an elliptical type of person
P – They are nice. As close to running as I can do.
P – I really enjoy talking with you and am excited to meet you when you are able *smiley face
P – I have also come to the conclusion you are most likely not a cannibal or organ harvester so that’s a bonus as well
Z – Lol, I’m definitely none of those things, lol
P – When I told my Dad I was going to try and meet someone online that was his warning. lol
Z – Ha, lol
Z – I met my ex-husband on Match…he was a loser, but so far, not a killer, lol
P – So far?…Too funny
Z – And since I haven’t killed him yet, I think in pretty good still!!
P – Hilarious
P – My last date was interesting. Met her at a craft beer event. She ended up being a male to female. Awkward for sure…lol

Z – In Akron?
P – Yes about 6 months ago
Z – Not yet had that experience…my goodness
Z – Ah, last real date…too long ago…it was our second date and he proceeded to tell me that he’d had a blk gf before and his parents would never talk to him about her, they’d ask his siblings but never him
P – Wow really?
Z – Yeah, I was sorta like why aer you telling me this
P – I know
P – My family is pretty color blind. Very much a nonissue
Z – My “stepdad” is white, my ex-husband, my auny, we are a racially mixed family
Z – I’ll be honest, I grew up wishing I would turn white every night…I went to mostly white schools but I’ve since realized I’m perfect just the way I am
P – Yes you are
P – I grew up in a small town. One black girl at my highschool and she was my girlfriend. It was tough for her
Z – People are still a**holes
Z – What year did you graduate? 97 here
P – 98. Failed kindergarten…
Z – And I skipped kindergarten
P – A child prodigy
Z – I used to be smart, lol
P – Used to? Give yourself more credit *smileyface
Z – I suppose, just doesn’t feel like hat when I went back to college in 2008, lol
P – Nothing wrong with that. College is hard especially as an adult. I started in 2009
P – College nearly killed me…lol
Z – I went part time for a bit and then quit for a bit and now, I’m back in full time
P – That’s cool. Full time, must be challneging
Z – I believe it will be, lol, today is day 2
P – But worth it
Z – Maybe, lol…
P – Besides. Study dates are the best. I think it says a lot if you can enjoy someone’s company without saying a word.
Z – Never had one…
P – We will have to change that then *smiley face I have to study a lot for my job
Z – That could be fun!!
P – Of course it will…
Z – I’m going to suggest something, and you are more than welcome to say no…I don’t have a lot of people to watch my kids, so they’re always with me. We go lots of different places where we could meet up and they wouldn’t really be a bother…would you be up for that?
